Outdoor Community Concert – October 24th
Your Contra Council wanted to get one more outdoor event to happen before the weather turns cold, so we’ve scheduled another outdoor concert…this time at the Schenley Plaza tent on Saturday, October 24 from 2-4 pm. There will be tables set up for 20 people and there is plenty of space surrounding the tent for the public to gather round (socially distanced) to enjoy this performance.
Entertainment will be provided by these local musicians:
-Senior Moment (with 5 people including Ron Buchanan)
-Donna Isaac and Allison Thompson;
-Charlie and Daphne Anderson.
The Parks Conservancy has allowed us to offer this event at no cost to our community. We are suggesting donations to Pittsburgh Contra Dance, Pittsburgh Restaurant Workers Aid, 412 Food Rescue, SisTers PGH, Black Lives Matter, or other groups of your choosing. We now have a Venmo account @PghContra (associated with Ralph Kaden, our Treasurer) and you can also donate through our website www.pittsburghcontra.org
All attendees will be required to wear masks and to practice social distancing. You may bring your own chairs if you prefer. You may bring your own water bottles. Please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to reserve a table and tell us how many people are in your table bubble. We hope you’ll come out on what we hope will be a glorious fall afternoon, listen to live music and enjoy socializing with others from our community!
Outdoor Garden Concert September 20
We miss seeing you and dancing with you so much! As we learn more about Covid-19 and how we can safely socialize, the Pittsburgh Contra Council has decided we can offer a socially-distanced outdoor concert and we want you to come, either in person or virtually! This event will help us to maintain our social connection, allow us to enjoy music by our talented, local musicians, and contribute to the financial well-being of our community.
What: Socially-distanced Outdoor Garden Concert
Who: Music by Aubergine (Deb Byrum and David McLaughlin) with Anders Weinstein
When: Sunday, September 20, 2020 at 2:00 p.m.
Where: Board Member Anders Weinstein’s back yard in Point Breeze, ask for address in RSVP or see email from email@example.com
RSVP: Attendance will be limited to the first 25 individuals or bubbles/families of 2-3 who RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org
All attendees will be required to wear masks at all times and maintain social distance of 6′ or more. Attendees should bring their own blankets and/or chairs and their own (hopefully re-usable) water bottles. To facilitate mask-wearing, no other food or beverages are permitted. There will not be any bathrooms available.
Donations for Pittsburgh Contra Dance are encouraged and will be accepted via Venmo, cash, or check. We also encourage you to donate to the wider Pittsburgh and dance communities through SisTers PGH, Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, and Country Dance & Song Society.
We hope this concert and others like it will help us all feel more connected while we’re waiting to be able to dance again.
